Type of Ground : Undulating flat ground with good underfoot
Altitude differentials :  +- 40 metres

MINIMUM DISTANCE PER DAY

KM 158.1 Number of phases: 7 (seven)
     
Phase 1: KM 28.4 Into a hold of 40 min.
Phase 2: KM 27.0 Into a hold of 50 min.
Phase 3: KM 28.4 Into a hold of 50 min.
Phase 4: KM 27.0 Into a hold of 60 min.
Phase 5: KM 22.1 Into a hold of 50 min.
Phase 6: KM 15.1 Into a hold of 40 min.
Phase 7: KM 10.0 Into the finish.

Where there are compulsory re-examinations required, hold time may be increased by an extra 10 minutes.

HEART RATES

At each Vet Check the pulse rate must not exceed 64bpm within 30 minutes recovery. (Subject to Change at the discretion of the Veterinary Commission and Ground Jury)

Day/Date     : Friday/ 7th November 2008

Note: Final Vet Gate Inspection shall be within 30 minutes of arrival and to present only once.

COMPETITION AREA / TRAILS

The trails consist of shore front, wooded areas, water crossing, village settlements, flat logistic road & tarmac crossing. The trail shall be marked with noticeable markers at strategic points to guide the Riders. Coloured markers / signage shall be used to differentiate the respective loops. Night riding will be more interesting with respective different coloured lights marking the different loops. Designated water points along the trail shall be provided at approximately every 5km distances.

The course will be established by 4 November 2008. The course will be open for inspection by teams from 4 November 2008 until 5 November 2008 between 08:00 and 18:00 and on 6 November 2008 from 08:00 to 11:00. 

CREW CARS

Only one crew car per horse will be permitted. The sign “CREW CAR” (as officially provided only by the OC) must be attached clearly visible on the crew car.

Driving on the track during the competition will lead to disqualification of the respective rider. 

INVITATIONS

The FEI World Endurance Championship 2008 (“WEC 2008”) is open to All National Federations (“NFs”) being a member of the Fèdèration Equestre Intrenationale (“FEI”).

The OC will invite a maximum of six horses per country. No additional horses will be allowed. The OC will provide return economy class air tickets from the main airport in the respective countries to Terengganu, accommodation and meals for one rider and two grooms per horse, one Chef d’ Equipe and one Team Vet per country, as specified in the schedule.

ENTRIES

Entries must include the following information on horses: name of the horse, colour, gender, birth year, country of birth, sire, sire dam, breed (stud book initials), present nationality, passport number, name(s) of owner(s) including complete address, horse and rider registration number.

All entries must be made via the online entry system (www.eventuz.com). Passwords to enter the system and further information will be sent to the respective NFs after the entries in principle deadline. The OC will not accept any other entries or incomplete entries.

CLOSING DATES OF ENTRIES

Entries in Principle : 1st June 2008

Each NF must state whether they intend to participate with a team or only with individual competitors. Entries in Principle must be sent to the OC via the online entry system (entries in principle do not require specific logins).

Nominated Entries : 21st August 2008

Detailed entries with all complete information required. The list of the Nominated Entry may consist of a higher number of competitors and horses than the Definite Entry, but in any case never more than double the number of the Definite Entry.
Each NF may enter a maximum of 12 competitors and 12 horses.

Definite Entries : 1st October 2008

The names of the competitors and horses actually starting must be indicated and selected from those competitors and horses on the Nominated Entry list.
Each NF may enter a maximum of 6 competitors and 6 horses. No spare horses allowed.

Teams: 3 – 4 riders
Individuals: 1 -2 riders
TOTAL  4 – 6 riders

CONFIRMATION OF PARTICIPATION

Final riders and horses (Definite Entries) are to be entered from the list of Nominated Entries only.
All entries must be made via the online entry system (www.eventuz.com). Passwords to enter the system and further information will be sent to the respective NFs after the entries in principle deadline. The OC will not accept any other entries or incomplete entries.

Entries must include the following information on horses: name of the horse, colour, gender, birth year, country of birth, sire, sire dam, breed (stud book initials), present nationality, FEI passport number, name(s) of owner(s) including complete address; horse and rider FEI registration number.

CERTIFICATE OF CAPABILITY (“CoC”)

Certificates of Capability must be sent (online) to the FEI and the OC at the latest 21st August, 2008. Submission of CoCs must be made online via the Nominated Entries page. Only those competitors and horses for which the FEI confirms a Certificate of Capability may compete. Qualification criteria are according to official FEI publications.
